During a vacation in Manzanillo, Mexico it became pretty obvious that I would have to create a specific gallery dedicated to nature's anglers or fishermen ("pescador" in Spanish) resp. fish hunting birds. Why?
Maybe its because I saw so many of this bird family and they are quite photogenic.
Also because of their mostly very cooperative behaviour which made it a real pleasure to work with especially with this beautiful snowy egret.
Finally, and this is no surprise to the people who know me, the group of "wading birds" with its families of herons, nightherons, egrets, bitterns, ibises etc. are kinda of my favourite birds.
There is also a human element in the art of fishing, which I documented as well.
