The Mission Creek is home to the largest spawning grounds for the Okanagan Lake Kokanee (a land-locked sockeye salmon).
Every fall these fish (dead or alive) serve as an important food source for an impressive selection of predatorial birds.
This gallery features gulls and merganser as the major study cases hence the larger number of pictures but I also managed to take shots of eagles, heron, duck, owl and vultures (with horaltic pose) right at the creek.
Included are scenery shots to give the viewer an idea of the surroundings.
