Welcome visitors and friends to "HOW MATT SEES WILDLIFE".
Here is my little story how enjoying watching wildlife turned into a true passion.
I began watching wildlife at the age of 10, when dad took my two brothers and me out into the German woods in the lower river Rhine delta to find the Common Buzzard's nest, the secretive roe deer and Long-eared owls. My first trip to beautiful British Columbia in 1990 got me unforgettable encounters with elk bulls, moose twin calves and a grizzly bear on a wildlife trip into Jasper National Park. After graduation from merchant school and completion of the military service, I pursued an international sales- and marketing career for about 15 years, which took me into more than twenty European countries. With hardly any spare time left, I was still given opportunities to observe wild elephant, crocodiles, snakes and monkeys on Sri Lanka, an island country in the Northern Indian Ocean, and Coral reef fish in the waters of Malta, another island country located in between the coasts of Southern Italy and North Africa. In the glorious Swiss alps I was able to watch marmots, chamois, ibexes and Golden eagles during a high alpine safari, guided by a local forester. Love and marriage brought me back to British Columbia in 2005. Here my passion for the outdoors was rediscovered and I began traveling again in search of wildlife as well as taking pictures, mostly of the creatures encountered. So far the excursions have taken me throughout BC, Alberta, the United States and especially Mexico.
